Don't want to sound like a broken record, but we have to ask: Are we doing everything we can to protect our youngest students from zombies?
A concerned citizen in Hampton, Va., hacked into an electric road sign outside Barron Elementary School to scribe the message: "Caution Zombies Ahead" on Wednesday morning. By afternoon, the sign had returned to warning drivers about construction which, while annoying, is so less threatening than getting your arm bitten off by the Walking Dead.
The Hampton Roads Sanitation District told WAVY-TV that the sign was password-protected, but someone cracked the code.
Consider this our official warning to our local Virginia districts — Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Prince William, Loudoun — to do what you need to do to keep our kids safe. And hey, you can't pass the SOLs without a pulse.
Constant vigilance.
