The Washington Examiner has received more than a half-dozen e-mails from yoga and tai chi instructors interested in teaching some of the city's most dangerous youth their "mind-body" techniques, responding to our story regarding the District's juvenile justice agency's interest in doing just that.
"If we can teach one young person to manage their emotions before acting in anger with violence then part of our vision for a more peaceful world is closer to reality," one inquiry read.
The Examiner is dutifully passing these requests on to the Department of Youth and Rehabilitation Services interim deputy director Barry Holman, who said upon receving the first forwarded e-mail, "thanks Freeman."
We think that means keep em' coming.
