This in today from the National Press Club: this week's performance by Wyclef Jean and other Haitian musicians is not happening. "Due to the current unrest in Haiti, the Night of Solidarity with Haitian Journalists on Jan. 26 has been postponed. Many of the performers and speakers scheduled to attend could not get to America for the event," the club's Web site states.
Jean's transportation was probably not the problem. The musician and former Haitian presidential candidate was in Washington over the weekend to attend and perform at Sargent Shriver's memorial service in Potomac. For those who already bought tickets for Wednesday night's show, the press club is offering refunds.
