A 23-year-old man was stabbed in the throat early Thursday after he threw a snowball at a man shoveling snow.
Prince William County police said Tyree M. Alexander, 40, 0f Manassas, was shoveling on the 3800 block of Clore Place shortly before 4:30 a.m. Thursday when the 23-year-old threw a snowball at him.
Alexander allegedly confronted the man and stabbed him in the throat with a box cutter during the altercation.
The victim was flown to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but police said Thursday afternoon that he is expected to survive.
Alexander has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and is being held without bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on March 7.
