U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., is one of undoubtedly thousands of Virginia residents upset with recent fare increases on the Dulles Greenway.
This week, he sent a letter to Virginia Secretary of Transportation Sean Connaughton pushing for the rollback of recent fare increases approved by the State Corporation Commission.
Fares now costing up to $4.50 during rush hour.
“Over the course of a month, a daily commuter could spend the equivalent of a car payment,” Wolf wrote. “If you live in one of the communities just off the Greenway, you could easily get on and off the road multiple times a day.
“I have said it before, and will say it again: this is highway robbery,” he continued.
Zing!
