The biggest reason for Vice President Joe Biden joining the Democratic race for president has arrived in new polling data.

Biden, according to the newly released Quinnipiac University National poll, beats Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton doesn't.

Matchups among all American voters show:

-- Clinton beats Donald Trump 48 - 36 percent. She gets 41 percent to Bush's 42 percent and gets 44 percent to Gov. Scott Walker's 43 percent.

-- Biden bests Trump 49 - 37 percent. He gets 43 percent to Bush's 42 percent and ties Walker 43 - 43 percent.

While Trump leads the GOP race, many still expect Bush or Walker to emerge as the nominee, and Biden's numbers against Bush are impressive.

What's more, there has been some recent polling showing that as Clinton's approval and popularity has dropped, Biden's is at an all-time high.
