The Hill reports:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Tuesday that he planned a vote on Elena Kagan's appointment to the Supreme Court before the August recess. Reid said he planned to bring Kagan's nomination up for a vote "before we leave for August recess." The Senate Judiciary Committee approved President Obama's pick for the high court in a largely party-lines, 13-6 vote on Tuesday morning. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) joined with all the committee's Democrats to support Kagan.

A South Carolina GOP operative tells the Washington Post that Lindsey Graham's vote for Kagan means it's "no longer a question of 'if' but 'who' and 'how many'" Republican primary challengers Graham will face in 2014.
