House minority leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters Thursday that the release of four Americans being held in Iran should not be part of a deal with the Islamic Republic.

"Do you think the four American hostages being held in Iran should be released as a precondition to any deal made about Iran?" asked a reporter at a briefing.

"No," Pelosi answered quickly. "It would have been good, but it's just—no. This is a nuclear deal." Watch the video below:

President Obama was asked about these four Americans in his press conference yesterday, as well.

Among the four Americans being held is a journalist for the Washington Post, Jason Rezaian, and a Christian pastor, Saeed Abedini. Additionally, former Marine Amir Hekmati has been detained since 2011 and Robert Levinson has been missing since 2007.
