A photo of activist Linda Sarsour and Georgia candidate for governor Stacey Abrams holding up a campaign sign together was posted over the weekend on Facebook. “Heads up Georgia. The Muslim Brotherhood is backing Abrams” the headline says.

Linda Sarsour did throw her support behind Abrams, but the original photo (taken in January) was edited to include the word “Communist” and the hashtag “MuslimBrotherhood” on Abrams’ campaign sign.
Proud to stand with activist, organizer and @womensmarch national co-chair @lsarsour during #WomensMarch2018. When women speak up, stand up and show up for progress, incredible things happen. Let’s get to work. #PowerToThePolls #PowerToThePollsGA #TeamAbrams #gapol pic.twitter.com/CCW81wUXmy

While Sarsour has voiced support for the Muslim Brotherhood years ago—suggesting that the group “knows how to parrrttaaay!”—the photoshop of the sign renders the post inaccurate. (The conflict of communism and the Muslim Brotherhood is also confused.) Facebook has removed the photo.
Yo the Muslim Brotherhood knows how to parrrttaaay! So much for radical islamists taking over! If these r - they r da coolest! #jan25 #Egypt
