One of the Washington Examiner's reporters earned a big laugh from Stephen Colbert and his audience on the "Late Show" Thursday night, for a tweet about the dad-like qualities of Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine.

Kaine was on the show, and Colbert held up a series of news stories and tweets from reporters about how many see him as "America's stepdad."

A Washington Post story was headlined, "America, meet Tim Kaine, your new stepdad."

After showing a few tweets from reporters, Colbert saved a tweet from Examiner reporter Kelly Cohen for last:
