If you’re sticking with the air-conditioning this afternoon and evening, Fox Soccer Channel is where to be for a double dose of D.C. soccer.

Prior to the much-anticipated match between D.C. United and Los Angeles Galaxy in primetime, the Washington Freedom are in Boston to face the Breakers at 5 p.m. The Breakers are 3-5-4 while the Freedom (4-4-5) are winless in their last six matches (0-2-4). That hasn’t stopped Abby Wambach on the international level – she scored twice in the U.S. team’s 3-0 win over Sweden in East Hartford, Conn., on Saturday night. Washington midfielder Sarah Huffman, who made her U.S. national team debut in a 1-1 tie with the Swedes on Tuesday in Omaha, Neb., didn't play in the second match.

Speaking of the women’s game, Bowie native Christine Nairn co-captained the U.S. under-20’s to a 5-0 defeat of Switzerland in the U-20 World Cup in Germany. Centreville’s Jenna Richmond has been on the bench for both U.S. matches in the tournament so far. They play their final group match against Korea Republic on Wednesday in a match that will be on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com, according to the U.S. Soccer website.
