President Trump’s top surrogate, son Donald Trump Jr., tore through the Democratic Party and media to a sold-out college audience Tuesday night and predicted that the 2020 presidential election “should be the easiest reelection in the history of this country.”

To 700 cheering Penn State students, some of whom waited in line for hours to attend the latest Turning Point USA “Campus Clash,” Trump said the economic and foreign policy advances under the president would be cheered if they occurred under any other administration.

But instead, he said, opponents, Democrats, and the media spin it negatively.

“How do we take good news and turn it into bad news for Trump, as opposed to maybe we should question the moronic and failed policies of the other side,” said Trump, on stage with his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle and Turning Point’s Charlie Kirk.

He also predicted that the president will face media headwinds in 2020.

“2020 should be a no brainer. 2020 should be the easiest reelection in the history of this country,” he said. “But it won’t be because we’re not even close to a level playing field. The amount of obstacles that we have to get through to get regular messaging to Americans ... for that guy who’s working hard with a wife that’s working two jobs to make ends meet, they’re consuming five minutes of news and it’s all negative,” he added.

He dismissed polls showing troubles for his father, noting that when questioned, many Trump supporters are cautious, concerned about being criticized. He said anonymous online polls are more accurate, adding that in the 2016 campaign that there was a 15-point difference between them.

Over 90 minutes, Trump ticked off his problems with key Democrats and their policies, starting with the Green New Deal proposed by new Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

He mocked its cost and Ocasio-Cortez who, he said, “did not know the three branches of government. I don’t know, you’d think that would be a big deal … ” Still, he said, “We’re going to give her the pass on that one.”

Guilfoyle dubbed the stalled idea the “Green New Steal.”

Trump then made fun of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s claim to be part Native American and her 2020 announcement beer video.

He expressed frustration that at the recent State of the Union Address, Democrats sat while the president listed economic advances.

“You have a party that would not stand up during the State of the Union talking about delivering all-time low unemployment for really everyone but especially for a lot of minority classes,” he said. “To me as an American, it’s upsetting when I watch the Congressional Black Caucus not even acknowledge or applaud the president of the United States who delivered all-time low African American unemployment. That’s a problem,” he added.

And he shrugged off the Mueller report and the charges that led up to it as “the dumbest crap ever.”
