Virginia's Republican lawmakers on Wednesday filed a contempt motion with the Supreme Court of Virginia against Gov. Terry McAuliffe, saying the Democratic governor violated the state's highest court order striking down his re-instatement of felon voting rights.

This month, McAuliffe restored voting rights to roughly 13,000 former felons after the Virginia Supreme Court struck down his April order giving voting rights back to 200,000 former felons.
The Republican lawmakers say his August order violates the state consitution in the same way his April one did.
