UPDATE: West entered his guilty plea Thursday morning in Prince George’s County Circuit Court. Judge Graydon McKee sentenced him to eight months of electronic monitoring, two years of unsupervised probation, 40 hours of community service and psychological counseling. West told the judge he is worried about letting down young people who look up to athletes, the Associated Press reported.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors on weapons and traffic offenses.
A spokesman for the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney told the Associated Press that West will plead guilty to carrying concealed weapons and transporting loaded weapons. According to the plea agreement, he will undergo court-supervised electronic monitoring, do community service and receive psychological counseling.
Police say West was carrying three loaded guns and a knife when he was driving on the Capital Beltway last September. He was pulled over after speeding and cutting off an officer, authorities say.
