Donald Trump said Wednesday he is happy to have been endorsed by Texas General Land Office Commissioner George P. Bush, the son of former GOP candidate Jeb Bush.
The younger Bush backed Trump on Monday in what may be a move to show some support from the political dynasty family. The former Florida governor has not endorsed Trump despite signing the Republican National Committee's pledge last year to support the nominee.
"Well, I'm very honored by George P. Bush. I thought that was really terrific," Trump told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren Wednesday in a pre-taped interview.
The billionaire businessman insisted Republican lawmakers who have said they will not vote for him come November is a non-issue for his campaign. Trump said the media has focused on people not supporting his campaign rather than those who have endorsed him. He insisted his campaign has a high level of backing through Congress.
"We have tremendous support in Congress. We have tremendous support in the Senate, Jeff Sessions is an example," Trump added.
