Donald Trump Sunday evening tweeted out his frustration with demands he straighten up his political act, lashing out at media criticism that he needs to change and asserting he will remain true to himself.
"I have always been the same person-remain true to self. The media wants me to change but it would be very dishonest to supporters to do so!" Trump said in one tweet.
Trump over the course of the day Sunday sent out nine tweets that excoriated the press, in three cases homing in on the New York Times.
"'Stay on message' is the chant. I always do - trade, jobs, military, vets, 2nd A, repeal Ocare, borders, etc - but media misrepresents," he said in one tweet.

Indeed, Trump generally references these issues in his speeches but ends up getting the most attention for what is often an unscripted aside that has prompted outrage.
