Vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan encountered some hecklers in Iowa today, but it turns out that they’re old foes of the Romney campaign, having previously confronted the top of the ticket during the Republican primary last year.
Per Talking Points Memo: “it was organized by Iowa Citizens For Community Improvement, a nonpartisan progressive group in the state. They are the same group that heckled Mitt Romney at last year’s Iowa State Fair, prompting his famous response that ‘Corporations are people.’”
Today, they heckled Ryan over entitlements. “Our concern with Ryan is that he wants to cut social benefits like Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, which we feel have been an extremely important safety net for the middle class and poor in this country,” heckler Cherie Mortice told TPM.
