But who will play the former senator?  (ap photo)

Gack: The John Edwards train wreck is hard enough to watch in real life, but now Andrew Sorkin is adapting Andrew Young's book into a movie. And worse: Sorkin's getting more unpublished details! Reports Variety:

"This is a first-hand account of an extraordinary story filled with motivations, decisions and consequences that would have lit Shakespeare up," Sorkin said. "There's much more to Andrew's book than what has been reported and I'm grateful that he's trusting me with it."

Sigh. Must you? Sorkin was creator of "The West Wing" and his credits also include "Charlie Wilson's War" and "The American President," in which we learned the dogwood is a tree and a flower.

Our pick to play Edwards:

Can there be any other choice?
