Missouri Republican Kit Bond was a Senator this morning, but as of today, he's a partner at a K Street lobbying/law shop, Thomson Coburn, which is based in Missouri. Bond emphasizes he doesn't want to lobby -- even after his two-year cooling off period -- but he's not moving back home either.

The St. Louis Business Journal reports:

Bond plans to split his time between Thompson Coburn’s offices in Washington, D.C., and downtown St. Louis. He will maintain both his homes in D.C. and Mexico, Mo. Thompson Coburn’s having offices in both D.C. and St. Louis were part of what attracted Bond to the firm, he said.

Thompson Coburn doesn't have a big lobbying portfolio, but they do have clients in transportation. Bond was the ranking member of the transportation subcommittee of Appropriations.
