WHO: Reps. Kathy Castor, D-Fla., Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., C.W. Bill Young, R-Fla., and Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla.

WHAT: These members of Congress requested $500,000 in congressional earmarks for a Central City Community Development Corp. project in Tampa that would benefit homeless veterans and at-risk students.

WHY IT'S AN OUTRAGE: Historically, the Central City Community Development Corp. has not made good use of federal funds. Aside from some questionable property sales it has made to board members and issues with the IRS, the seven properties it developed with federal funding a few years back all ended up in foreclosure.

WHERE TO VENT: Call the Capitol Hill switchboard at 202-225-3121 and ask to speak with one for the Florida lawmakers responsible for these earmarks.
