P.G. police: Man killed fellow 18-year-old
Prince George's police arrested an 18-year-old man in the slaying of another 18-year-old that took place early Monday morning in Temple Hills.
Darrel Sales, of Ft. Washington, was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Anthony Boatwright, of Northeast Washington, police said.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 5000 block of Temple Hill Road at 12:15 a.m. Monday and found Boatwright dead on the ground.
Police said Boatwright and Sales "happened upon each other" and got into a fight over shoes Boatwright was wearing, according to witnesses. Sales allegedly shot Boatwright and fled, and officers found him not far from the crime scene.
Sales was charged with second-degree murder, police said.
Teen crashes SUV into Fairfax County house
A 16-year-old boy crashed a sport-utility vehicle into a Fairfax County home while he was on his way to football practice Monday morning, officials said.
The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. on the 10400 block of Miller Road in the Oakton area. The teenager ran the SUV off the road and struck a mailbox and a sign before hitting the home, Fairfax County police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said.
The driver was taken to a hospital. He was not seriously injured due to the wreck, but police are investigating whether he had been experiencing a medical emergency.
Driver killed in P.G. crash
One person was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Prince George's County on Monday morning, police said.
The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on the 9400 block of Fairhaven Avenue in Upper Marlboro. A Chevy Tahoe went off the roadway into a drainage area, ejecting the driver.
The victim was a male, but his age was unknown, police said. No one else was in the sport-utility vehicle, and it wasn't known whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
