Md. trooper charged in child porn case
A state trooper who spent eight years protecting Maryland governors has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, Baltimore County police said. Greg Shipley, a spokesman for the Maryland State Police, said Bruce Allen Tucker, 47, was transferred to that agency's Criminal Investigation Bureau in February and has been suspended without pay since his arrest Friday.
Woman charged with killing her father
A Woodbridge woman has been charged with murdering her 82-year-old father. Patricia Blevins, 53, was charged in the March death of her father, Marden Wilson, Prince William County Police said Monday. A toxicology report found that Marden Wilson had a high level of Sertraline, a prescription anti-depressant and anti-anxiety drug, in his system. Police said Blevins became a suspect when authorities learned she was under investigation for prescription fraud, including Sertraline.
27 years for deadly driver
A Fort Washington man was sentenced to 27 years in prison for a car crash that killed two people and seriously injured another. Daryl Wilson, 41, was intoxicated and behind the wheel of a minivan in May 2009 when it crashed through a plate glass window of a dry cleaners in Prince George's County. Wilson sped away and police followed him into the District, where he crashed into a car and killed Darrell Miller, 23, and David Pride, 22.
Man gets 37 years for sex-trafficking conspiracy
A Gaithersburg man was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 37 years in prison for his role in a sex-trafficking conspiracy. Authorities say Lloyd Mack Royal III, 29, and his co-conspirators coerced teenage girls to engage in sex for pay, and on multiple occasions drugged the girls before forcing them to have sex.
