8th homicide of year in Prince George's Co. A man was killed in Hyattsville Saturday morning, the eighth slaying in Prince George's County this year.

The man was found dead in an apartment complex parking lot on the 1400 block of University Boulevard when officers responded to a report of a cutting at about 8 a.m.

He was taken to a hospital with trauma injuries and died there, police said.

Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a police spokesman, said detectives would investigate whether the killing is linked to any of the other seven homicides recorded this year, but so far no connections have been made.

Boyfriend of missing cheerleader charged

The ex-boyfriend of a former Washington Redskins cheerleader who has been missing for nearly a month has been charged with murder, according to jail records.

Authorities have been looking for Las Vegas showgirl Debbie Flores-Narvaez, 31, since she disappeared Dec. 12. She was an ambassador for the Redskins' cheerleaders in 2007 and 2008.

Nevada jail records show her former boyfriend, 32-year-old Jason O. Griffith, is in custody and charged with murder.

Police confirmed to the Las Vegas Sun that an arrest was made in Flores-Narvaez's case.

It wasn't immediately clear whether her body had been found.

Man killed in Bowie crash

A man was killed and his son is in critical condition after a Bowie car crash involving a stolen vehicle, Maryland State Police said.

Police said Joseph M. Hein died after his Hyundai Accent struck a Cadillac SRX that was stopped without its lights in an eastbound lane of Route 50 near Route 301 at about 9:30 p.m. Friday.

The Cadillac SRX had been reported stolen. Police are questioning two people who were walking near the crash site.
