Think: An Evening of Mind Reading and Magic Featuring Josh Norris at the Hotel Helix, Friday
Josh Norris became entranced by the field of magic at the age of 12, and he put on his first performance when he was 14.
"When you're a little kid, you think it's real," said Norris, now 28. "I couldn't get enough of it."
After years of corporate work, Norris has his own show Friday evenings in the month of August at the Hotel Helix.
"There's nothing like this in Washington, D.C.," Norris said. "There's not a whole lot of options for something different."
Norris' performances are not so much magic as they are a demonstration of psychology and hypnosis, exploring the use of body language and the illusion of mind reading. And yes, OK, some magic as well.
This Friday's show as well as the Aug. 24 one recently sold out, but tickets remain for the Aug. 31 and Sept. 7 performances. Each performance seats 50.
"There are no bad seats," Norris said. "The closer you are, the more interesting it is."
