CHICAGO (AP) — A transportation official says the upper-level doors at a terminal of O'Hare Airport in Chicago have been closed due to a "suspicious item."

Karen Pride, the spokeswoman for the city's Department of Aviation, tells the Chicago Sun-Times (http://bit.ly/PEvB1D ) that arriving passengers were being diverted to Terminal 1 starting around 2 p.m. Thursday. She says the airport train isn't stopping at Terminal 2.

Department of Aviation spokesman Gregg Cunningham tells the Sun-Times that the doors were secured and the checkpoints closed. He says it wasn't considered an evacuation, but passengers were sent to the other terminal for screening.
