Wish you could take your dog or cat for a night out and some cocktails? Well, of course there is an event where you can do that in D.C., and it's just around the corner, so get your pets in the paw-ty hats and show your support for the Washington Humane Society at the 10th annual Sugar and Champagne Affair at the Ritz-Carlton on 22nd Street Northwest. Lisa LaFontaine, president and CEO of the humane society, said the event honors the field service officers "who are on the front lines in the District every day of the year. Their work is not easy, and their devotion to caring for and saving animals that have been neglected, abused, and/or abandoned is truly amazing."

Chef Todd and Ellen Gray of Equinox and the soon to open Watershed will feature savory dishes from many area restaurants including Marcel's, Restaurant Eve, the Source, Bastille, Kushi, Cuba Libre, Trummer's on Main and Zentan. The event also will include samplings from several food trucks.

Ticket prices for the Feb. 1 event are $150 for VIP and $90 for regular admission for you and your furry friends.
