John Phillip Sousa Middle School students will perform Monday in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and the D.C. Jazz Festival as part of the national MLK Day.

The "Lift Every Voice and Sing Concert" will begin at 1 p.m. in the John Phillip Sousa Auditorium at 3650 Ely Place SE. Students will sing, dance and read excerpts from some of King’s most famous speeches.

This concert is just one of many happening across the country Monday to honor the life of the civil rights icon.
