BALTIMORE (AP) — The Pentagon says a soldier from Frederick has died in Afghanistan.

Twenty-four-year-old Sgt. David V. Williams died Saturday in Kandahar. The cause of death is under investigation.

He is the second serviceman from Maryland to die in Afghanistan in less than a week. On Thursday, Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Patrick Feeks of Edgewater died in a helicopter crash near Kandahar.
