MSNBC panned Newt and Callista Gingrich’s performance this evening, and the panelists had a couple of funny lines.
“That’s the first time I’ve seen a keynote speaker have to demand a standing ovation — ‘everybody get up’ — other than a rap concert, I’ve never seen it,” MSNBC’s Al Sharpton said from Tampa.
Chris Hayes, who was on the panel with Sharpton, also joked about the Gingrich’s habit of alternating lines during their remarks in praise of Ronald Reagan.
“This feels like they’re about to give out the Oscar for Best Departed President,” Hayes tweeted.
