ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — A new mural to be unveiled at the University of Georgia brings together science and art.
The "Seascape" mural is set to be formally unveiled Friday at 4 p.m. It's the first in a series of murals by the school of arts' scientific illustration students to decorate the biological sciences building.
The murals allow the students to use their skills, which focus on creating drawings and illustrations for medical and other scientific media, to enliven the halls where so many students take classes.
The students began the design process for the first mural during the spring semester and completed their work earlier this month. The project was part of an elective course on scientific illustration.
