Despite a rough second round, Maia Schechter of Takoma Park has qualified for match play in the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur at the Country Club of North Carolina. Schechter, a 5-foot-11 senior this fall at Montgomery Blair, was the only Washington area player to advance.

Sara Stanley (83-80 – 163) of Centreville, Elyse Smidinger (80-81 – 161) of Crofton, and Bryana Nguyen (83-80 – 163) of Columbia failed to make the cut.
