The Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain, finished up earlier this month. But for engaged ladies who missed the excitement, the District’s annual “Running of the Brides” sale hits the Mazza Gallerie Filene’s Basement July 30 at 8 a.m.
Racks are stripped bare in less than two minutes as brides grab gowns, then literally strip down to try them on in the middle of the sales floor.
Before poo-pooing the annual ritual, consider that dresses costing as much $10,000 will go for $249-$699.
“The number of calls we’ve received is way up compared to last year,” said store manager Dana Booker. “The ‘rush to the racks’ when the doors open can be a lot of fun, but it’s not everyone’s idea of a good time.”
