BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Mitt Romney is coming to Alabama to raise money for his Republican presidential campaign.

The former Massachusetts governor will be in Birmingham for a reception being held Wednesday night at an exclusive private club overlooking the city.

Donors are giving a minimum of $1,000 to get in, and Romney will attend a private dinner for those giving at least $25,000.

While members of the general public won't be allowed in, immigration activists are planning a rally outside the club to protest Romney's positions on illegal immigration.

Romney last visited Alabama in March, when he finished third in the state's GOP presidential primary.
