Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson met with Donald Trump last week in New York and urged him to show more "humility," according to the New York Times.
Adelson has pledged to contribute as much as $100 million to Trump but has yet to follow through. The day after the discussion, which occurred a week ago Wednesday, Trump offered his surprising comment that he felt "regret" for some things he had said.
Adelson told Trump he was committed to his campaign, but it is unclear if Trump has now altered his approach enough to induce Adelson to release the money, according to the Times.
Adelson, 83, also owns the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Nevada is a key state for Trump, one where the polls show him and Hillary Clinton in a close race.
