Pizza lovers may want to consider Xavier University, the site of a new pizza ATM, Fortune reported. A pizza vending machine on campus sells 12-inch pizza pies for $9, with the option to add toppings, in three short minutes. The pizza pies will be available 24-hours a day.
Although the pizza ATM has been popular in Europe for years thanks to a French distributor, this is the first in North America. Xavier has been working with Paline to make it happen.
The machine costs $55,000. Assistant Vice President Jude Kiah praised the ATM since the labor costs are much lower, and there's no cost for a storefront. It's been very reliable so far, with employees being notified over their phone to restock the machine when it is running low.
It's not only reliable, but tasty too. "It is the best pizza I've ever had, and I hate to admit that as a New Yorker," Jennifer Paiotti, marketing director of XU's auxiliary services, told WCPO.
Xavier has been busy promoting the pizza ATM over Twitter, which has gained popularity over social media.
