The frontiers of marijuana delivery keep expanding. This time, it’s sort of like Birchbox (a popular luxury beauty subscription service) except for pot snobs.
Potbox, a San Francisco-based subscription service, makes monthly deliveries of high-end, “farm fresh” medical marijuana in beautifully crafted packaging.
For $150 a month, you’ll receive a quarter-ounce of weed in elegant corked bottles, along with two pre-rolled joints. You tell Potbox what flavors you like so they can select “exciting new strains for you to try.”
For each strain, they painstakingly detail the plant’s environment, food, climate, farm, aroma, and other information, along with descriptions like “bright tasty hints of fresh lemons and sweet grapes.”
"Dispensaries offer a broad variety of cannabis products, but the experience can be intimidating for patients who are not familiar with the numerous strains and their effects, or don’t know what to buy or how much," they write on their blog. "Our expert curators seek out the highest quality strains that meet the needs and the desired experience of our patients, and our trusted employees deliver it to their home or workplace."
To sign up, you simply present evidence of your medical marijuana ID card. The company is currently serving customers in LA and San Francisco.
