The Center for Medical Progress released a second viral video on Tuesday accusing Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Medical Directors’ Council President Dr. Mary Gatter of profiting off fetal tissue obtained through partial-birth abortions.
In the video, Gatter discussed the payments for an intact "fetal specimen" and haggled over the price.
“You know, in negotiations whoever throws out the figure first is at a loss, right?” she explained to the actor. “I just don’t want to lowball... $75 a specimen.”
Even though Gatter repeated several times during the eight-minute video that it's not about the money, she clarified by saying that the deal had to be worthwhile for her. The actor and the PPFA doctor eventually agreed on $100.
By the end of the meal, the Planned Parenthood doctor admitted that the abortion group received payment in spite of incurring the fetal matter at no cost and wanted to renegotiate the price.
“It was logistically very easy for us, we didn’t have to do anything. So there was compensation for this," she continued. “Let me just figure out what others are getting, and if this is in the ballpark, then it’s fine, if it’s still low, then we can bump it up. I want a Lamborghini.”
In CMP's first video released on July 14, PPFA's Senior Director of Medical Services Dr. Deborah Nucatola discussed the price for fetal tissue including the liver, heart, and lungs of a partial birth aborted fetus.
While PPFA slammed the video as "heavily edited," they did confirm the use of fetal organs for medical research.
“Planned Parenthood’s top leadership admits they harvest aborted baby parts and receive payments for this. Planned Parenthood’s only denial is that they make money off of baby parts, but that is a desperate lie that becomes more and more untenable as CMP reveals Planned Parenthood’s business operations and statements that prove otherwise,” said CMP’s Project Lead David Daleiden in a news release.
