San Diego State University is offering a course focusing on the impeachment of President Trump to their students again this fall semester.

Impeachment, Removal, and Special Counsel” is being offered to students at San Diego State University this fall semester, with an emphasis on two constitutional grounds “impeachment and removal (25th Amendment), and the possible charges of the independent counsel.”

According to local reports, the same course was offered in the Spring 2018 semester, but was initially given a title that was a much more obvious reflection of it’s content matter. "Trump: Impeachment, Removal or Conviction?" was initially met with a large a public outcry, forcing the college to apologize and agree to rename the course, saying the title was not reflective of the content taught.

"On behalf of Joe Johnson, interim dean of the College of Extended Studies, and Joyce Gattas, dean of the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts, we would like to acknowledge those who have been offended by (the course)," SDSU said in a statement. "In retrospect, we realize the title of the course, `Trump: Impeachment, Removal, or Conviction?', is inconsistent with the course content described."

In addition to focusing on the constitutional grounds for impeaching a president, the course will also focus on several topics that it feels can be possible grounds for “impeachment, removal, or indictment” including: “conflict of interests, foreign emoluments, climate change, racism, [and] religious bias.”

The course will be taught by John Joseph Cleary, an attorney admitted to the California Bar, and students can earn one credit for completing the course.

SDSU is not alone in offering anti-Trump themed courses. The University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign is currently offering “Trumpaganda: The war on facts, press and democracy,” which looks at “the Trump administration’s disinformation campaign, its 'running war' with the mainstream news media, and their implications for American democracy and a free press.” The course is being offered in the university’s journalism school.
