Rapper and Bernie Sanders supporter Killer Mike made news in the primary when he repeated comments that "a uterus doesn’t qualify" Hillary Clinton to be president, and now that she is the nominee, he still hasn't embraced her. While speaking to TMZ, he did not commit to voting for Hillary, and said "if you're voting for Trump or Hillary Clinton, you’re voting for the same thing."
Killer Mike didn't have kind words for Trump either, but he also gave him some credit. Laughing off Trump's comments about the Second Amendment, with TMZ mentioning Trump "was inciting people to shoot..." Killer Mike said "I don't think that's what he was saying... I hope that's not what he was saying. He's batsh*t crazy but I don't think he would call for another presidential candidate to be assassinated. He was saying that that vote could prevent her."
As Killer Mike saw it, Trump with his claims about Obama being the founder of ISIS was merely repeating what he's heard on Fox News. He also had words about America's role in ISIS and destabilization in the world. "But I do think our government has done a great job at destabilizing countries and creating enemies. And you know as Americans we have to understand that in the world we are an empire, we're an empirical force," he said.
It was our role as citizens then to elect Sanders. "We had one candidate this year who had a strong chance of winning, who was anti-growing war and that was Sanders, and we didn't vote him in. So we're getting what we asked for. We're asking for more war. And if you don't want any war, you'd be voting Jill Stein. If you want less government in war, you'd be voting Gary Johnson. But if you're voting for Trump or Hillary Clinton, you're voting for the same thing."
Although he was sure that "all of us citizens need to get over our classisms and vote for the betterment of us all," he also is "definitely not with him or her."
