Unable to beat Donald Trump (R) in the polls, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) is hoping to beat him in the gym.

The Hill reported that during a Q&A segment on Wednesday at the Yale Club, Perry was asked by a Daily Mail reporter how he will respond to Trump's claim that the governor lacked the "brain power" to run for president.

Perry seemed to think that it was time to stop fighting with words and time to take action.

“Let’s get a pull-up bar out here and see who can do more pull-ups,” Perry responded.

The crowd broke out in applause and laughter, but it doesn't do much for the former Texas governor who is polling far behind the billionaire.
