Donald Trump's poll numbers may still be on the rise, but he is being bashed by all corners of the media over his statements on Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) war record. In an interview with The O'Reilly Factor Monday, the host got Trump to clarify his statements.

A feud began when McCain called Trump supporters "the crazies" after his rally in Phoenix where Trump blamed the senator for not tackling the issue of illegal immigration. The billionaire then made a flippant remark that McCain was only a war hero because he was captured, and he preferred military personnel that haven't been captured.

The feud has continued through different interviews between the two with Trump saying illegal aliens are being treated better than our veterans.

During the interview, O'Reilly emphasized that Trump could have stuck to the issues without getting personal.

"I've known you for a long time, and I want you to be honest, you know John McCain is a hero. I know you do," O'Reilly said.

The presidential candidate agreed.

"I do, and I said it, I said it four times," Trump responded.

Rather than spending more time rehashing the conversation, O'Reilly and Trump discussed veterans not receiving proper care from the government. While they both agreed on that the Department of Veterans Affairs is a disgrace, they disagreed that McCain is responsible for that lack of care for veterans.
