It was lucky that 23-year-old Carol Miracle was carrying a gun on her during a late-night trip to the convenience store, but not so lucky for the man who tried to rob her.

Earlier this week, Arizona news outlets reported Miracle shot and killed a would-be robber who held her at gunpoint outside a Circle K in Glendale.

She told police that the man held a gun to her head and demanded money, so she pulled out her own handgun and shot him in self-defense. She then called 911 from her nearby home to report the incident.

When police arrived on the scene, they identified 27-year-old Frank Taylor in the parking lot. Paramedics treated him and took him to the hospital where he later died from injuries.

According to Glendale Police Officer Tiffany Smith, “Miracle has been fully cooperating with detectives,” and surveillance video and witness testimonies align with her story.

Miracle was not taken into custody, but the case was turned over to the county attorney's office where a decision on criminal charging will be made.
