To stop a bad guy with a gun all you need is a good guy with a gun.
This is what happened in Cincinnati on Sunday night when Thomas McCary fired at four people, including a one-year-old boy, before someone carrying a concealed carry permit stopped him.
Fox 19 reported that McCary was arguing with a woman in the late evening on Sunday night. When the woman's brother, Patrick Ewing, approached him, McCary pulled out a .38-caliber handgun and fired three shots at him.
All of McCary's bullets missed Ewing, who was able to reach for his gun and return fire, wounding the shooter in the leg.
Ewing had a concealed carry weapon.
Wounded, McCary fled into his house to get a second gun that he used to fire in the direction of some onlookers, including a woman carrying her one-year-old child.
Once again Ewing returned fire, distracting McCary long enough for the civilians to flee. McCary hit no one despite shooting off several rounds.
He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center to be treated before being booked into the Hamilton County Jail. He is being held without bond on four counts of felonious assault, according to Fox 19.
Had it not been for the heroism of Ewing and his concealed carry permit, the situation might have ended much more tragically.
