Many people have suggested that 2016 is really an election about the Supreme Court.
With many of the justices getting older, it would seem that the next president could have the opportunity to nominate at least one, if not two spots.
And while Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) may be polling near the bottom of the presidential pack, it hasn't stopped him from already having the perfect candidate in mind should he get elected and the cards fall into place -- Rep. Trey Gowdy.
Graham suggested "a guy like Trey Gowdy" for his top justice pick in an interview with the Des Moines Register's editorial board Wednesday
"Somebody who's been in the real world—been a politician, been a prosecutor," Graham said, explaining the lawmaker's qualifications. "There are a lot of people, talented in nature, who have never worn the robe, that would be good Supreme Court justices."
A fellow South Carolinian, Gowdy is best known for his takedowns of Hillary Clinton and ferocious questioning over Benghazi.
His fiery comments have earned the ire of the left and the respect the right.
