You use it. You want it. But do you know even the simple facts about it?

A reporter asked the people of Washington D.C. to identify identify the faces on American currency, but few failed to do so correctly.

“I’m going to show you some pictures and I want you to tell me if you know who these people are,” Dan Johnson of the Media Research Council said to bystanders as he held up enlarged pictures of American currency.

The confused looks of most made it seem like they had never seen the bills before and their answers ranged comedic to just plain apathetic.

"George Adams?" guessed one woman, combining the first two U.S. presidents names in a valiant effort.

Some people did guess correctly, including a couple from Ireland!

Alexander Hamilton, the founder of the U.S. financial system, received little love. But people won't need to recognize him for much longer. He is soon to be ousted as a yet-to-be-chosen woman is set take his place on the $10 bill in 2020.
