Jimmy Kimmel couldn't resist doing an All-American edition of "Lie Witness News" ahead of the Fourth of July.

In customary fashion, the comedian's crew asked people on Hollywood Boulevard about fake happenings, fooling passersby about everything from Katy Perry's alleged trademark on "firework" to President Obama's apparent Confederate flag burning event.

"Part of being American is not knowing anything," Kimmel declared in celebration of Independence Day.
