When Lady Grey Jewelry received an order from Ivanka Trump, the company took the opportunity to publicly shame her for the policies her father supports.
After Ivanka placed an online order, the jewelry company wrote her a note and shared it online:
“Dear Ivanka. Thank you so much for your web order! We’re happy to let you know that the proceeds of your order have been generously donated to the American Immigration Council, the Everytown for Gun Safety organization, and the Hillary Clinton Campaign. We hope you enjoy your Lady Grey #helixearcuff
Best, Jill + Sabine Lady Grey"
The note was posted on both Twitter and Instagram with the caption “Dear @IvankaTrump… #thanksbutnothanks #payitFORWARD #hillary2016.”
After posting the note on social media the company quickly came under fire. One Twitter user claimed “you just lost me as a customer for posting this rude note.” Another said, “She spent money on your product and your appreciation is to throw shade at her. Rude.” One user even questioned the attack saying, “Why attack a woman because of her father?"
@LadyGreyJewelry @IvankaTrump Wishing you the worst of luck in the future of your company. Why attack a woman because of her father?

@LadyGreyJewelry @IvankaTrump this lacks a great deal of class, you should be ashamed.

Although Lady Grey protected its Twitter account shortly after receiving criticism, some people showed their support. One man claimed “This is beautiful. More people that do business with this family should do this. Well done. #ImWithLadyGrey.” Another user even encouraged people to buy more of their products by posting a picture of the note and tweeting “The gorgeous ladies of @LadyGreyJewlry with a classy internet #slapback. Support small business. Get the earcuffs!"
I would buy so much @LadyGreyJewelry because of this (if I could afford it). #ShadeForACause pic.twitter.com/xnTNvWBDqT

The company claims: “Lady Grey is currently selling in over 30 luxury retailers worldwide, throughout the U.S., United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Celebrity fans include Beyonce, Rihanna, Elizabeth Olsen, Rose Byrne, Solange, Selena Gomez, Grimes, an Emilia Clarke, among others.”
Lady Grey Jewelry has also been featured in several different publications including Vogue, The New York Times, Seventeen Magazine, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and several others.
According to the website, the item that Trump purchased, the “Helix Ear Cuff” goes for $84.00.
"While we were flattered to receive an order from Ivanka Trump, our social and political views couldn't be further from those of the Trump campaign," said a statement from the company provided to Red Alert Politics. "When we received her order, we instantly felt compelled to take the money and donate it to a few organizations that were more aligned with our ideals -- Everytown for Gun Safety, The American Immigration Council, and The Hillary Clinton Campaign.
We strongly feel that everyone and anyone can make a difference through actively supporting the causes that they believe in, no matter how big or small. We decided to share this letter to make that statement, and hopefully inspire people to follow suit."
