Is this Hillary trying to prove she can be funny, or just reaching ultimate self-parody? Or maybe a rare moment of honesty? Who knows any more! Hillary Clinton has now decided to design herself a literal “gender card” to make her points about women.
Clinton apparently got fired up after Mitch McConnell dissed her by remarking, “The gender card alone is not enough.” As proof, he referenced his own recent trouncing of Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes.
“There is a gender card being played in this campaign,” Clinton retorted during a Facebook Q&A on Monday. “It’s played every time Republicans vote against giving women equal pay, deny families access to affordable child care or family leave, refuse to let women make decisions about their health or have access to free contraception. These aren’t just women’s issues, they are economic issues that drive growth and affect all Americans.”
She then later unveiled this tweet:
If Sen. McConnell thinks fighting for women and families is playing the "gender card"—okay. Here's our #gendercard: pic.twitter.com/mtSCvJWqAD
