The oldest living former president, George H.W. Bush, gave the country a scare a couple weeks back when he fell at his summer home in Maine and broke a bone in his neck.
But the elder Bush took to Twitter Thursday to spread the word that his recovery is going well.
Who knew jumping out of planes was safer than getting out of bed? Thanks to all for your kind get-well messages. pic.twitter.com/T9FmhCqyme

With a cheeky message about his annual birthday skydiving trips, Bush joked about his accident and showed that it was only his body that was hurt, not his sense of humor.
He thanked his followers for the well wishes.
According to reports, the bone in his neck will be allowed to heal on its own and will just take time.
