Today, Americans for Prosperity released an advertisement encouraging economic freedom that will be shown in movie theaters across the country. The video features sound clips of former President Ronald Reagan explaining the importance of economic freedom to the prosperity of the United States and features patriotic images of this great nation.

According to the communications director for Americans for Prosperity, the ad will run in primarily “big major theaters with multiple screens, including many theaters with IMAX.” The ad will appear in theaters in the following states: Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

In the ad, Ronald Reagan’s voice takes listeners back to the time when America thrived under his presidency: “Prosperity can come about only when the farmer and businessman enjoy economic freedom," he says. "Today America has the strongest economic growth, one of the lowest inflation rates, the fastest rate of job creation.”

The recording of Reagan reminds listeners of the success of economic freedom: “We’re enjoying the highest level of business investment in history. There stands before the entire world one great and inescapable conclusion: Freedom leads to prosperity. Freedom is the victor.” As Reagan speaks, text flashes on screen, urging the audience to “support economic freedom” and “Text FREEDOM to 46262 to learn more.”

The AFP press release regarding the ad circulated on Thursday and featured a quote from Tim Phillips, President of Americans for Prosperity: “While movies like The Campaign poke fun at the absurdities of politics, President Reagan offers a powerful reminder that economic freedom is the source of our prosperity.”

According to the press release, Americans for Prosperity is “the nation’s leading grassroots voice for economic freedom and limited government.” Individuals are encouraged to visit AmericansForProsperity.org to learn more about AFP and the advertisement.
